Pastoral care is paramount in all we do in De La Salle High School. The motto of our school is,
“Take Care, Show Care, Teach Care, Evoke Care,”
Our motto epitomises our child-centred approach to education. We adopt the principles of Jean Baptiste De La Salle, our founder, who believed in the development of the whole child to fulfil their potential and to prepare them for the demands of future life.
All staff are committed to this ethos, so every child, whether in Year 8 or Year 14 will be given the support and nurturing required to make them the best that they can be, as an individual, as a student, as a family member, as a member of the community.

Speak to Mr Murray, head of Pastoral Care. You can speak to him at any time during the school day. His room is R.E. 1
Speak to your form teacher, Year head or any member of staff you trust. Before, during or after school.
Your parent/guardian can contact Mr Murray, your form teacher, year head or any member of staff to arrange a referral. (this will be arranged with the consent of the pupil).
Family works, our school counselling service is also available for your son to access if they are struggling with their own personal emotional well being. However, please be aware that our counsellors are only available in order to help with early intervention therefore if your son/daughter is already working with an outside agency such as CAMHS they will not be able to avail of this service. Please also be aware that there is a consistent waiting list for school counselling and it may be 2-3 weeks before your son/daughter is seen but we strive to get all students assessed as quickly as possible.
Based on certain events/circumstances we may ask you to make an emergency GP appointment which may result in your son being referred to CAMHS. This is advised in order to provide extra specialist support for their emotional well being. Above is a guide to how CAMHS work as well as a range of CAMHS recommended self-care resources
