Our vision is to educate and develop all of our pupils to the highest possible standard and as a Catholic Lasallian School, to awaken them to the challenge of living according to the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Faith.
As a school we will endeavour:
- to develop each person’s full potential in a climate of joy, freedom, respect, challenge, co-operation and celebration.
- to enrich a pupils’ life – intellectual, physical, spiritual, moral, social and emotional.
- to promote a spirit of charity, social justice, global awareness and concern for others leading to practical outreach and partnerships.
- to promote a culture of tolerance where people of diverse identities are recognised, welcomed, respected and cherished; and to listen, have mutual understanding, trust, reconciliation, healing and peace, towards each other.
The warm, friendly and caring atmosphere of De La Salle comes from the high value placed on relationships between pupils, parents and staff. Pupils have a positive attitude to school life and appreciate friendships and the support from caring staff. Teachers have high expectations academically of their pupils and also in the development of the ‘boy’ within a Lasallian school. A child centred approach infuses everything that the school does.
A positive behaviour policy is informed regularly by pupil voice and supported through the positive relationships between pupils and staff. This was one of the key reasons the school was awarded the ‘Children’s Rights Respecting School’ award.
In 2019 the Leadership Team revisited the aims and objectives of the school following a consultation with all stakeholders. The aims and objectives are reflective of the outcomes of the consultation.
